After meeting while attending university, Prince William and Kate Middleton have been married for more than 11 years. Of course, things haven’t always been perfect in their relationship; William and Kate actually called it quits in 2007.

The exact cause of their breakup was the subject of much rumour at the time. Kate had to give up many of her own goals when she wed a royal. A new hypothesis for the couple’s 2007 separation has now been offered to the public by a royal expert.

Kate realised one major “burden” about Prince William and his extraordinary life, according to Judy Wade, a former royal correspondent for Hello! Magazine. But in the end, it gave her more strength and self-assurance than she had before.

Many of us have childhood fantasies of being real-life kings or princesses. Others hope to one day marry a prince or princess, while some contemplate what it would be like to be born into the Royal Family.

That goal comes true for a very, very small portion of the general people. Consider Meghan Markle, who married Prince Harry and became a princess. While this was going on, Kate Middleton outdid herself and will eventually become the Queen. Naturally, that entails giving up any plans for living a “normal” life and dedicating everything to the Crown and all of its engagements and obligations.

The pressure of her royal responsibilities, however, reportedly nearly led Kate Middleton to take a step that would have fundamentally altered her life.

Wade claims that Kate just began to understand the profound lifestyle change that joining the senior Royal Family would entail.

She may have been aware of the terrible weight she would have assumed. Wade added, “Marrying a royal is a life sentence.

Kate was living in London at the time, and William was stationed with the Household Cavalry in Dorset. They consequently frequently separated. In the video announcing their engagement, William and Kate discussed their breakup in 2007.

In their engagement interview, William acknowledged that “we did split up for a while.” But that was just because we were both very young, in college, still figuring ourselves out and having different personalities, etc.

Kate continued, “I think I wasn’t very happy about it at the time, but it actually made me a stronger person.

“You learn stuff about yourself that you may not have known. Or, I believe that when you’re younger, a relationship can consume you completely. Looking back, I realise how much I valued that time for myself even though I didn’t realise it at the time.
