Kayla Nicole, the ex-girlfriend of Chiefs star Travis Kelce, acknowledged during an interview with WNBA star Angel Reese on the “Unapologetically Angel” podcast that the negativity she gets from Taylor Swift’s fans has impacted her life.
Swift has been dating Kelce for more than a year, with the couple’s relationship making headlines starting last fall.
That put a spotlight on Nicole from Swifties, some of whom have sent negativity the way of the model and influencer.
“I would be lying if I said that that level of hate and online chaos doesn’t impact me. “It does, even to this day,” she told Reese. “You can go to my most recent post and there will be people debating each other why I am worthless and I’ll never be a talented person and I have no career.”
Nicole doesn’t understand where the hate comes from and points to the “level of fame that attracts crazy people.”
“I haven’t done anything to warrant that backlash,” she said.
Kelce and Nicole split in 2022 after being in an on-again, off-again relationship since 2017.
Kelce was already a household name in football circles but rose to new heights after his relationship with the “Bad Blood” singer went public.
That seemed to renew interest in his past relationship with Nicole, who shot down a rumor that her and Kelce’s romance hit the rocks because he was cheap.
“I don’t even know why that became a thing,” she said. “That was never an issue in our relationship but it was definitely a rumor on the internet.”
Nicole suggested that she and Kelce two were on friendly terms, though she would “probably hit him with a head nod, that’s about it.”
“We’ve seen each other in public spaces, but I think that we’re both aware of the nature of his new situation,” she continued. “That there’s just no room really for us to communicate or acknowledge each other publicly without it being spun into something crazy so we just keep it moving.”
